Claudette, the art teacher, likes the idea of composing such paintings from photos etc while my other teacher, Yael, wants us to draw from the gut. The approach above teaches technique but for Yael this is a demostration of a skill, not art.

Ponderings

Yael's class: Like the very first cello player painting, this started off with lines on a canvas drawn with closed eyes. Drawing the waterfall proved a particular challenge.
