Painting the scene a second time I was much more careful in laying down colour in stages and letting areas dry before working on them again. The second painting better achieves distance, is lighter and more airy. Interested in hearing feedback.

This one looks more realistic albeit a somewhat faded version of the first. Definitely prefer this one. It's in keeping with our chilly weather at the moment!
